Twins claim minor league outfielder off waivers from Blue Jays

The Minnesota Twins announced Thursday that they have claimed outfielder Darin Mastroianni off waivers from the Toronto Blue Jays.
The Blue Jays designated the 26-year-old Mastroianni for assignment last week in order to free up a roster spot for pitcher Francisco Cordero.
In order to make room for Mastroianni on the 40-man roster, the Star Tribune reported that the Twins designated righthanded reliever Esmerling Vasquez for assignment.
