Fans treated to Twins Caravan
The Minnesota Twins are sending out players in the next few weeks to meet with fans around the region. Several “Twins Caravan” teams have been setup and will meet with players starting next week. Stops for the group include Alexandria, MN on January 12th; Pelican Rapids, Fergus Falls, Detroit Lakes, and Wahpethon, ND on January 13th; Erskin, Foston, Thief River Falls, and Crookston, MN on January 14th; Grand Forks, Valley City and Fargo, ND on January 15th.
Just announced today, former Minnesota Twins pitcher Jack Morris will be in attendance for the 2009 Winter Caravan. Morris is currently a Twins radio analyst. Morris will join Twins manager Ron Gardenhire, hitting coach Joe Vavra and pitcher Glen Perkins.
Morris was intrumental during the 1991 season, pitching the Twins through three of the seven games. Morris pitched 10 complete innings in game seven in what many baseball historians say was the best series in baseball history.
